Until the price of computer memory quintupled this month, many recent Old Rope antics were funded by the sale of home-built PCs to the unsuspecting London readers of "Loot".

If you're interested in buying a high-quality, top-spec PC and you don't want all the associated bundled guff that the likes of Tiny, Dell, Time et al. insist that you buy, you could do a lot worse than to drop us a line and we will quote for a custom-built PC, made to whatever specification you ask for.

As an example, the following was the "August '99" spec that we were selling for just £790 inc. VAT :-)
